Kalahasthi Waterfront

Sri Kalahasthi is a temple town on the banks of the Swarnamukhi, where the river is a place of daily ritual and gathering. Commissioned by the Srikalahasteeswara Swamy Devasthanam, this project beautifies the river's left bank along its most-used reach, from Kannappa Sethu to the Ramasetu Bridge.

The design reimagines the bund as a calm, walkable promenade. A timber boardwalk follows the water's edge and opens into planted islands, shaded seating and gathering decks that slow people down and turn the edge into a place to stay. Native planting gives shade and resilience, with generous room for pilgrims, families and residents.

The proposal is resolved as a full technical package: a dimensioned master plan setting out the promenade, planting and section locations, detailed landscape sections through the graded embankment, and a geotechnical soil investigation to ground the engineering.
